HONOREES:

CAMILLE A. BROWN is a prolific Black female choreographer reclaiming the cultural narrative of African American identity. She is a Ford Foundation- Art of Change Fellow, Audelco Award recipient, four- time Princess Grace Award winner, Guggenheim Fellow, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Award recipient, USA Jay Franke & David Herro Fellow, TED Fellow, and Doris Duke Artist Award recipient. Her Company, Camille A. Brown & Dancers, tours nationally and internationally. Notable theater credits for her choreography include: Tony Award Winning Broadway revival, Once On This Island (Drama Desk, Outer Critics, and Chita Rivera Nominations), The Emmy Award Winning, Jesus Christ Superstar Live on NBC, Broadway’s A Streetcar Named Desire, The Fortress of Solitude (Lortel Nomination), BELLA: An American Tall Tale (Lortel Nomination), among others.

Jerome Preston Bate is an American theater, film and television actor, director and playwright. Broadway credits: Jitney directed by Ruben Santiago Hudson, STICKFLY directed by Kenny Leon and SEVEN GUITARS directed by Lloyd Richards (created the role of Floyd Barton opposite Viola Davis).  Regional work includes: Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Richard III and The Comedy of Errors, The Old Globe in MACBETH also Denver Center, Yale Rep, Center Stage Baltimore, Goodman Theatre, Hartford Stage, Folger Shakespeare Theatre, Wilma Theatre, Philadelphia Drama Guild, Alliance Theatre, Philadelphia Theatre Company, Long Wharf Theatre, People’s Light, Sundance Theatre Lab Utah and Crossroads. Off Broadway NY includes: The Public Theatre, Beckett Theatre, Abingdon, New Federal, Billie Holiday Theatre, NEC. Television credits: All My Children as Derek Frye, Law And Order, SVU, HBO’s OZ, Third Watch, Lights Out and NYPD BLUE. As a writer Jimi Hendrix (screenplay) Electric Lady, Jimi Slight Return and August Brown. As director the entire August Wilson Cycle for LC Laney Museum, August Women and Religion at The Billie Holiday Theatre, Easy Money, Seven Guitars at The Triad NCA&T and The Man In Room 306 at LUNA STAGE West Orange, NJ. Film work includes: PEEPLES opposite Kerry Washington, SHAFT opposite Samuel L. Jackson, Musical Chairs, Tio Papi, The Out Towners, It Runs In The Family, The Narrows, Romeo and Juliette in Harlem. Praise God, You Alley Theatre and Mr. Edelstein, Indira, Kyrsten and Zenzele.
