The Finals

The Best Plays in the festival will perform and the Industry Judges will select the Best Play. 

 



The Industry Judges will include:

  • ELLYN LONG MARSHALL, Casting Director, Orpheus Casting
  • MARGARET EMORY, Agent, SW ARTISTS, Representing
    actors for film, TV and theatre and seeking actors for the EXPANDING commerical and voiceover department at SW Artists, a talent agency in New York City.
  • COUNT STOVAL, Actor, Broadway credits include: Driving Miss Daisy, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Inacent Black, Philadelphia Story and No Place To Be Somebody.  TV Credits include:  Seven Seconds, Madame Secretary, Fault Manny, The Good Wife, Army Wives, Law & Order, American Playhouse and As The World Turns.
  • VAN DIRK FISHER, Theatre Producer, Riant Theatre

3.  FIRSTS by Naya James
Directed by Lucia Bellini


Featuring: Naya James, Trenton Clark, Anthony Paglia and Arya Kashyap

First is a poignant and often hilarious look into the minds of two people on a first date shows how much we have in common if only we were brave enough to admit it.


4.  HOPPER REVISITED by Nancy Finn
Directed by Grant Machan

 
The story depicts the people and places in American painter EDWARD HOPPER'S painting.

 






5.  ENTR’ACTE by Anthony Fusco

Directed by Katherine Yacko

Featuring: Clay Von Carlowitz and Peter Tarantino

A tete- a- tete between an actor and an acting coach crosses the line when one of them exposes information that can ruin the professional relationship between them.

 





6.  PETRIFIED LIGHTNING by Maggie Brill
Directed by Jacob S. Louchheim

A happenstance seaside meeting forces two strangers into a tumultuous exploration of fear and loss.  Together they must decide to experience the unknown or be forever petrified by it.

To submit your play for the Strawberry One-Act Festival go to www.FilmFreeway.com/JocundaMusicFilmandTheatreFestival.  The Strawberry One-Act Festival, will be in JANUARY, FEBRUARY AND MARCH, 2021. (15-30 minute plays.) Early Deadline is September 30, 2020  Regular Deadline is October 30, 2020.  Notifucations will be sent out by November 15, 2020.

To submit your play for the Strawberry Theatre Festival (STF) for Full-Length Plays (55-90 minutes), Musicals (not to exceed 120 minutes), Short Plays (40-50 minutes), Variety Acts, Cabaret Acts, Magic Shows, Sketch Comedy, Improv Shows and Readings.  To submit your play to the STF go to www.FilmFreeway.com/JocundaMusicandTheatreFestival.   The Early Deadline is September 30, 2020Regular Deadline is October 30, 2020.  Notifications will be sent out by November 15, 2020.  The Strawberry Theatre Festival will run in JANUARY, FEBRUARY AND MARCH 2021.

Submissions are now being accepted for the Jocunda Music, Film & Theatre Festival.  We are seeking singers, r&b, neo soul, pop and hip hop artists; Films: short, narrative, animation and music videos; comedians and Short and Full Length Plays and Screenplays.

The Jocunda Music, Film & Theatre Festival will run from JANUARY through MARCH 30, 2021 at ARTEL Hotel in Brooklyn, NY.  Singers, Fashion Designers and Vendors send us a link to your music and/or performance.  Include your bio and a cover letter why you would like to be in the Josucnda MFT Festival.  Vendors email us to request an application for Vendors.  State in your email what it is you would be selling. (i.e. Food, Merchandise or Crafts.  Or if want to promote your business.)  Email submissions to JocundaFilmFestival@gmail.com.
